Christian Education
The Christian Education programs of The First Presbyterian Church of Chester are overseen by the Christian Education Committee to ensure that our main focus is on the teaching of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Sunday School
Our Sunday School runs from the first Sunday after public school begins to mid-June. Classes begin at 9:00 AM each Sunday in our Christian Education wing. Currently, the program is aimed at pre-school through elementary ages. We are supervised by the Christian Education Committee and have a free flowing spiritual relationship with the committee to give the best education we can to the children.
Although small at present, children of all ages are welcome to attend, as we re-build a new, progressive, program. Your opinions and input would be more than welcome in this process.
Vacation Bible School
Each summer we sponsor a week long Vacation Bible School in cooperation with other churches in the community. Our VBS program is open to children age 3 through 6th grade children from all denominations and focuses on our Lord Jesus Christ with lesson times, craft, music, snack, recreation, daily worship, and an ending celebration with the parents.
Youth Group
The youth group is made up of children from our congregation and other denominations from 7th grade to 12th grade. They gather to learn about the love we share through our Lord Jesus Christ and show this love by doing mission projects and participating in worship, fellowship, and fun activities. The young adults in youth group are shown the path to follow into adulthood that Christ wants us to follow.
Bible Study
Adults meet for bible study at various times throughout the year.
